Terms of Service

The service is for adults. By using it you confirm you are at least 18 years old. We don't knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use it, and we may close accounts that don't meet this requirement.

They Cheated builds search reports from publicly available information across four kinds of sources: public web image search, username checks on public websites, public data-breach notification data for an email address you provide, and public records. We run them using the name, age, location, photo, username, or phone number you provide about the person you're searching for. We don't access private accounts, private messages, or dating-app profiles, and a source that isn't available for your search is shown as not checked rather than as a result.

You may use the service only for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Requesting a report to evaluate someone for employment, credit, insurance, housing, tenancy, or any other eligibility decision is a non-permissible purpose under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA); we don't provide reports for those purposes and you agree not to request or use one that way (see section 3).

Results are signals, not proof. A match may be wrong, outdated, or belong to a different person who shares a name, photo, or username. Nothing in a report proves that anyone has cheated, is on a dating app, or has done anything at all. Treat every result as a starting point for your own judgment, not a conclusion.

They Cheated is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and our reports are not consumer reports. You may not use the service, or anything in a report, to decide whether someone gets a job, credit, housing, tenancy, insurance, a government benefit, or for any other purpose covered by the FCRA. If that's what you need, use an FCRA-compliant provider instead.

You agree to give us accurate information about yourself, and to only submit information about another person that you lawfully have. You are responsible for how you use what we return to you.

Prices are shown at checkout before you pay. Search plans are one-time charges — they do not renew and there is no subscription to cancel. If a purchase adds an optional recurring service (such as monitoring), it is labeled as a subscription where it's offered, renews at the interval and price shown at the point of purchase, and can be canceled anytime from your account or by emailing support@theycheated.com. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

If you're not satisfied with a search purchase, email support@theycheated.com within 3 days of the charge and we'll refund it in full.

You agree not to use the service to:

• stalk, harass, intimidate, or threaten anyone;
• locate or monitor a person in violation of a protective order, restraining order, or any other court order;
• make FCRA-covered decisions (employment, credit, tenancy, insurance eligibility) as described in section 3;
• break any law, or violate anyone else's rights.

We may suspend or terminate access, without refund, if we reasonably believe the service is being used this way.

The service is provided “as is.” We don't warrant that results are complete, accurate, current, or that they relate to the person you intended to search. To the fullest extent the law allows, TRODLOVE LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on a report; our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, by email or an in-product notice). Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
